Paul was professional from start to finish, arriving early and setting everything up perfectly for our new menu shoot. The photos were incredible, a giant step up from the phone pictures we used before - and they got a huge reaction on social. He even delivered some shots the same day. We can’t wait to work with him again.

Why good food photography matters

  • Attract more customers

Stand out in Google searches, social feeds and review sites with striking, appetising images that encourage people to book a table.

  • Improve your social media

High-quality food photography performs far better on Instagram and Facebook, helping your posts attract more conversation, engagement and shares.

  • Make menus more appealing

Clear, authentic food photography helps customers visualise your dishes, set expectations correctly and make ordering easier.

Photography designed for hospitality

Most diners discover new places to eat online, and social media is often where they form their first impression. Strong food and venue photography helps:

  • Capture attention on Instagram and Facebook with authentic, striking and shareable images,
  • Encourage more likes, comments and shares on your posts,
  • Give you a growing library of high-quality content for marketing materials going forwards.

Better engagement means more people discovering your venue, and more potential customers deciding to visit.

Common questions

Photography questions

Yes. High-quality photos tend to generate better engagement on social media, including more likes, comments and shares - which can help attract more attention to your venue and ultimately lead to more bookings.

Results will vary depending on factors such as how large and active your audience already is, but strong photography consistently helps restaurants, pubs and cafés present their food and venue more effectively online.

Photography sessions are charged at a flat rate of £299 per shoot. Travel is included for venues within 40 miles. For locations further away, travel is charged at 50p per mile after the first 40 miles.

Photography sessions last up to four hours on location, giving plenty of time to capture a range of dishes, drinks and venue images. We'll work efficiently during the session to make sure you get the best possible value from the shoot.

Before the shoot, it's helpful to ensure the space is clean, tidy and free of clutter so the venue looks its best on camera. Make sure items such as cutlery, glasses and tableware are spotless, as small imperfections are often very noticeable in professional photographs and can be difficult to remove afterwards.

Ideally we'll work in an area of your venue where we can control the lighting.

For the food photography portion of the shoot, we typically need one table to work from, with space for two softbox lights and access to a nearby power socket. We bring all the necessary photography equipment, so setup is straightforward and designed to minimise disruption to your venue.

For the venue photography, we'll need access to the whole venue, ideally while it is closed to ensure we don't disrupt service or your customers.

A typical session can include a mix of:

  • Food photography
  • Drink and cocktail photography
  • Interior venue photography
  • Exterior venue shots
  • Staff headshots, if required

We'll work with you to prioritise the images that will be most useful for your website, menus and marketing.

Location and logistics

We offer venue and food photography across South Wales and parts of South-West England, including Cardiff, Newport, Barry, Penarth, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot, as well as nearby areas such as Chepstow, Monmouth, Bristol, Gloucester and Hereford.

If your venue is nearby but not in the towns or cities listed above, feel free to get in touch!

Yes, within reason. We typically cover venues within around 110 miles of our office in Pontypool, South Wales. If you're unsure whether your venue is within our travel area, just get in touch and we'll let you know.

The best time is usually when your kitchen is busiest, as this ensures dishes are being prepared at their freshest and presented exactly as they would be for customers. For most venues, this tends to be Friday, Saturday or Sunday service.

Practical details

The exact number depends on how the shoot goes, but we aim to deliver all usable images from the session. Most venues typically receive around 40–80 professionally edited photos, although larger shoots may produce more.

Photos are usually delivered within three days of the shoot. If the session takes place early enough in the day, we can often provide a few priority images on the same day for immediate use on social media or marketing.

Yes, all images are professionally edited while keeping them natural and authentic.

This typically includes adjustments to exposure, colour and white balance, and occasionally removing small distractions such as minor spills. We avoid heavy processing so the images still reflect how the food and venue look in real life.

No. All images are edited manually in Adobe Lightroom to ensure they remain natural and true to how the food and venue actually look.
