Easy Eatery Beta 0.8.52 released
ImprovementEasy Eatery
We’ve rolled out v0.8.52, bringing a brand-new editing experience, important bug fixes, and a range of refinements designed to make day-to-day workflows smoother and faster.
New Text Editor
The legacy TinyMCE editor has been replaced across the control panel with Quill JS, providing a more modern and streamlined editing experience.
Key improvements include:
- A cleaner, more intuitive interface
- Better integration with the control panel design
- Significantly improved handling of variable tags (such as those used in email templates)
- Easier insertion and removal of variables
- Reduced risk of accidentally modifying or breaking variable tags during editing
This update makes content management, particularly email template editing, more reliable and user-friendly.
Table Reservations – Bug Fix
We have fixed an issue where starting to select a status for one booking and then clicking the “No tables” button on a second booking could result in tables being assigned to the first booking incorrectly.
Table assignments now behave as expected when interacting with multiple bookings.
Form Builder Improvement
A small usability enhancement has been made to the form builder. Clicking inside the teal dotted area surrounding a form field will now behave the same as clicking the settings (cog) button, allowing you to jump directly into editing that field.
Page Builder – Quality of Life Updates
This release includes several refinements to improve performance and usability within the page builder.
Performance improvements
- Reduced overall loading time by approximately 300 milliseconds
- Reduced artificial delays when updating the live preview
User interface and preview updates
- Fixed a Safari issue where the loading overlay only partially covered the live preview
- Added a new Fullscreen preview size (Desktop no longer behaves this way by default)
- Desktop preview now uses a 16:10 aspect ratio for a more realistic representation
Editing behaviour improvements
- Placeholder elements when editing a block’s content now default to off
- When editing a block, the default view is now always the Content tab
- Previously, if you edited Options or Custom Fields, the next block opened would remain on that tab, even if it did not contain fields there
Mobile improvements
- Replaced vh units with dvh, resulting in improved behaviour on mobile phones and tablets
